Early Life in the Backwoods
Andi was born and raised in Porterfield, WI, where the outdoors were an essential part of everyday life. Growing up, she spent countless hours swimming in rivers, exploring the woods, and embracing all the beauty that Wisconsin’s Northwoods had to offer. Whether skiing in the winter or kayaking in the summer, Andi’s love for nature was always at the center of her life. She developed a deep appreciation for the environment and understood the importance of preserving these natural resources for future generations.
Her small-town upbringing instilled in her a set of core values—hard work, accountability, and fairness. In the close-knit community of Porterfield, Andi learned the importance of standing by your neighbors, supporting your community, and being a good steward of the land.
Putting the Values of Service to Work
Andi’s dedication to service began early and grew stronger with time. Throughout her life, she has consistently worked to help her community, whether through school sports, volunteering, or simply being there for neighbors in need. As she grew older, Andi realized the impact she could make on a larger scale. With issues like contaminated water, failing infrastructure, and a lack of support for rural areas, she knew it was time for someone who understood the challenges of the Northwoods to step up and fight for change.
Andi's career path, from starting her own roofing business to working as an insurance adjuster, always reflected her commitment to solving real-world problems for the people around her. Her experiences during natural disasters reinforced her belief in standing up for her community and putting her values of fairness and hard work to practical use.
Building Opportunities Through Work
Andi’s professional journey has always been driven by a desire to improve her community. After earning her degree from Lakeland College, she entered the construction industry and traveled across the country, learning new skills and tackling challenges in various environments. When a hailstorm hit near her hometown of Peshtigo, she took action, becoming a licensed general contractor and starting her own roofing company to help local families rebuild. This entrepreneurial experience showcased her leadership skills and ability to create opportunities for others.
Her career later transitioned to the insurance industry, where she specialized in large commercial loss and flood claims. Andi’s analytical skills and attention to detail made her a trusted figure in her field, advocating for fair outcomes in complex situations. She believes that businesses can thrive while also being accountable for their impact on the environment and local communities.
Investing in Her Community
Andi’s commitment to the Northwoods goes beyond her career. She believes that everyone, regardless of income, deserves clean water, quality healthcare, and affordable childcare. As a strong advocate for local businesses, she wants to ensure that rural communities are not left behind. Her goal is to invest in the people of District 12, providing opportunities for success while protecting the natural resources that define the region.
Whether it’s fighting for better infrastructure, supporting local businesses, or ensuring that future generations have access to the same natural beauty she grew up with, Andi is dedicated to improving the lives of families in the Northwoods. She knows that with hard work, accountability, and a focus on community, real change is possible.
